A full transformation of a family home in Pontypool, with three bespoke extensions designed by George & Co, structural steelwork opening up the interior, and a modern industrial finish inside and out.
A large part of the original structure was taken out and replaced with structural steelwork, which is what makes the bright, open-plan interior possible. The three extensions have vista windows that bring natural light deep into the house.
Inside, we carried out a full renovation: several new bathrooms, a hand-finished kitchen, and smart home technology throughout so the house is simple to live in.
The finish leans into a modern industrial look. Polished concrete floors run through the new spaces, and the exterior is clad in burnt larch, which weathers well and needs little upkeep.
The house was featured on BBC Wales’ Home of the Year.
